Dailly guild

Dailly Guild met on Wednesday 8th February in the Scout Hall. Following the opening devotions, the President, Margaret Clanahan introduced the speaker – our own minister, Rev. Iain McLachlan.

Mr McLachlan’s subject was “Television”. He gave an interesting talk on the history of television from one channel in the 1950s to the present day.

He talked about the influence television has had on our everyday lives and on society and the way that different types of programme have evolved, and highlighted the educational value of television. Mr McLachlan ended his talk with a light-hearted quiz on television theme tunes.

Margaret Clanahan thanked Mr McLachlan very much and the evening ended with tea and biscuits.

The next meeting will be held on the 14th March when Mr Ron Gibson will give a slide show.
