SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN: Father Christmas greets Girvan children at last year's Street Party.

FESTIVE jollity is jingling its way down to Girvan in anticipation of the town’s annual Christmas Street Party this evening.

The seasonal spectacular will start at 5.30pm with a service in the Methodist Church on Wesley Road, then Santa and his reindeer make a special appearance to greet the town’s children and their sparkling lanterns on Dalrymple Street.

With Christmas cheer well and truly covered, Santa will retire to his cosy grotto at Stumpy Corner, where he will be taking present requests with his Christmas elves before his return to Lapland.

Festive folk young and old will have a ball visiting the variety of stalls and games along Dalrymple Street, while rides – including a Bucking Reindeer – and karaoke will also be on offer to those whose Christmas courage does not desert them.

Marvellous Mascots and the 1000-year-old-wizard will be boosting the festive frivolity throughout the evening as the town is illuminated by beautiful Christmas lights, and don’t forget tickets for the Magic of Christmas Toy Raffle will be available from Girvan Youth Trust stalls or from the Community Centre from 5.30-7.30pm ahead of the prize draw at 8pm.

You can also pop into the Carrick Gazette on the night and meet the team also enjoy some festive refreshments.

So be on your best behaviour, support your street, and get your party on!
