Last day to have a say on Girvan leisure centre
A PUBLIC consultation date on Girvan’s multi-faceted facility is imminent, but Carrick residents are reminded that in order to have their say surveys must be submitted tomorrow.
New surveys were distributed earlier this month in an attempt to both confirm the findings of previous research and ensure the most current views are represented.
The questionnaire was sent out to all directors and members of the South Carrick Community Leisure (SCCL) group, as well as to arts and sports groups across the area, and were available on request from the Ailsa Horizons offices at 22 Dalrymple Street, Girvan, or by email from david@ailsahorizons.co.uk.
“We know that you may be bored – or even annoyed – by the fact that you have been asked over and over again about what new facilities you want,” said Lesley Fisher, Ailsa Horizons’ new Community Asset Development Manager.
“We can only apologise and say that we would not ask you for this information again unless we really had to.
“It is important so that we can design and run a centre that will be viable and so that we can raise the funding that we’ll need to raise to match the South Ayrshire Council contribution.”
Completed surveys should be returned to Ailsa Horizons by close of business tomorrow (Friday November 16).
