Maybole comes together for Macmillan nurses

editorial image

There was a happy event in the Carrick Centre when April Andrews from Macmillan Nurses in Ayrshire visited to accept a cheque from Carrick Academy captains.

The £1200 pounds had been raised at a unique coffee morning involving all four town churches, the Men’s Health Forum, Carrick Centre and 15 senior pupils from Carrick Academy.

In her remarks April was keen to point out that all the money raised at such events was spent in Ayrshire although the “ Biggest Coffee Morning “ appeal was a national scheme. She indicated that this sum along with the monies raised at Gardenrose and Cairn schools on the same day would provide many hours of care from these specialist nurses.
