40th year for flower club

Girvan Flower Club started its 40th year last week, and there was a good turnout for their first meeting. A cheque for �100 was presented to Age Concern - the money being tea money raised during last season. A cheque for £100 was presented to Age Concern - the money being tea money raised during last season.

The opening Demonstration of the Season was very well attended, and the committee were delighted to welcome returning members and visitors alike. Club Chairperson Margaret Findlay started the evening by presenting a Cheque for £100 to Tricia Watts representing Age Concern Duff Street, every year the proceeds from Tea Money is donated to a local charity nominated by club members, Tricia was delighted to come along and receive the Cheque and expressed her gratitude to the club. Margaret then introduced Demonstrator Zena Stone from Bolton. The Raffle was then drawn. Lynda Fraser from Carlisle will be the Demonstrator on Wednesday 23rd October and her title is “Razzle Dazzle”.
