Ayrshire Cancer Support are on the lookout for Ayrshire’s finest bakers or if you’re looking for something to do with the kids during the Easter break then this could be for you.
Ayrshire Cancer Support would like to hear from you! Now in its second year the charity is holding a baking competition with expert judges from Sugar & Spice and Braehead Cook School, followed by a coffee afternoon where you the public can join in scoffing said cakes with a cuppa.
The ‘Bake and Taste’ will take place at Cathcart Street Church Hall in Ayr on Saturday 12 April.
Bakers are asked to drop their delightful creations off at the hall between 11am and 12pm to allow time for judging. Doors are open to the general public for coffee and cake tasting from 1pm – 3pm.
It costs £2 to enter each category in the competition and £2 a ticket for the tasting (children’s tickets cost £1).
There will be prizes on offer for the winners in various categories, including a children’s class for those under 11 years old and from 11-16 years.
Categories for the competition are: Best Fruit Scones, Fruit/Tea Loaf, Decorated Chocolate Sponge, Muffin, Empire Biscuit, Jam Swiss Roll, Millionaire Shortbread, and Best Children’s Easter Cake (up to 11 years and 12-16 years)
