Ayrshire groups headline 2013 gig on the green at Stair Park

Girvan Youth Trust is pleased to announce that this year’s Gig on the Green will take place from noon until 8pm on Sunday, June 23 at Stair Park, Girvan, and again will incorporate the Civic King and Queen crowning ceremony.

This year’s event will feature fundraising stalls from local Girvan community groups, various entertainers and, of course, a fabulous line-up of bands to fill the eight-hour event.

Ayr youngster Stefan Janik will be kicking off this year’s event with a DJ set. Stefan, who also performs under the name of DJ Haunted Theory, will be one of this year’s youngest performers. However, do not let his age fool you.

Having done sets in places such as Club De Mar and some nightclubs in Glasgow, Girvan will be honoured to have this young man’s presence.

To check out some of Stefan’s work, listen to him on Sound Cloud or on Twitter @StefanJanik.

Also featuring at this year’s event will be widely-known Ayrshire band, Preacher.

They are a melodic-rock band and also launched their album at the O2 ABC1 in Glasgow last month – the first time an unsigned band have ever headlined a gig at the venue!

Over the last few years, the band have gathered a loyal and supportive fan base and their album is sure to go down a treat with both fans old and new.

Preacher have also played to sell-out crowds in venues such as King Tuts, Glasgow O2 Academy and other well-known Scottish venues.
