Members of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Vulnerable Children’s Health Team have raised a fantastic £790 for the children’s ward at University Hospital Crosshouse by completing the Kiltwalk half marathon.

The six-woman team, known as ‘The Braw Maws’, walked 13 miles from Clydebank to Loch Lomond in April this year and raised a total of £1,568.59 in sponsorship. Half of the money raised was donated to the children’s ward while the rest will go to various children’s charities supported by the Kiltwalk, including CLIC Sargent, CHAS and Cash for Kids.

The Braw Maws presented their sizable donation to Jean Davies, Clinical Nurse Manager for Paediatrics. Jean said: “On behalf of the children’s ward I would like to thank The Braw Maws for this wonderful donation. This is an amazing amount of money and will go towards helping our young patients.”
