Burns saves the day at Minishant Rural’s

Despite the severe weather conditions, President Pearl Marr welcomed a good turnout of members to Minishant Rural’s first meeting of 2015.

Unfortunately, the speaker for the evening was a victim of the weather but, thanks to Anne Walker, members enjoyed watching the DVD “Robert Burns ... where it began”.

This portrays the story of the meeting of Robert Burns’ parents at a local market in Maybole and their marriage in the town as told by “contemporaries” of the Bard featuring local children, musicians and storytellers.

Well done Anne, who also won the evening’s competition – three custard creams.
