All age service
On Sunday 2nd March at 10am St Colmon Parish Church will hold the monthly All Age Service in the Kirk Hall in Colmonell. Anyone who finds the Church steps a challenge will find the hall easy access and all are welcome. Refreshments are served after all services.
There are now opportunites for people within the Parish of Dailly to come join their Community Council.
If you are someone who would like to be more involved in what is happening in your village, please come along to the next Community Council meeting in the Community Centre on Wednesday March 5 at 7pm. Please note, even if not wishing to be a Community Council member these meetings are open to everyone within the Dailly Parish to attend.

Girvan Carers group for carers of people with dementia held its first meeting last month.
The group will host a monthly meeting for carers of people with dementia. They can chat and share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee and will receive practical and emotional support. There are also occasional invited speakers on topics of interest.
The meetings will be on the last Thursday of each month; Thursday February 27, March 27 and April 24 with other dates to follow from 2pm-4pm in Age Concern, Duff Street, Girvan. If interested or to find out how to join the group call Jenni McKeand, link worker on 01292 318005.
South Parish Church is hosting a fashion show in conjunction with M+Co at the M+Co store at 35 Dalrymple Street, Girvan on Friday February 28. Tickets are priced £3 and are available from M+Co and the church fundraising committee.
Girvan and District Flower Club’s 40th Anniversary celebration takes place at 6.30pm on Wednesday March 26 at Malin Court.

If your place is already reserved, there will be an opportunity to pay and collect your ticket on receipt at our Friends and Family night which takes place in Girvan Community Centre on Wednesday February 26 at 7.15pm.
This night will take the form of a Daisy Drive (the clubs version of a Beetle Drive). The evening finishes with supper served by the committee who look forward to welcoming you to this fun occasion.
The next meeting of the Girvan and District History Society will take place in the McKechnie Institute, Dalrymple Street, Girvan on Thursday February 27 at 7.30pm.
This month’s guest speaker is a well known face in Girvan, Roderick Leitch, the current Girvan Harbourmaster.
His subject is the history of the Girvan harbour from 4.6 billion years ago to the present day.
Using historic documents, old and new photographs, anecdotal evidence and just about every “ology” in the book, Roddy will show us why Girvan harbour owes its existence not to the last ice age, but to geological forces millions if not billions of years ago.
Entrance: Members £1, non members £2 which includes a cup of tea and a biscuit. All interested parties most welcome.
Alzheimer Scotland Action on Dementia South Ayrshire Service is holding a singing group for people with dementia and their carers.
Girvan Melody Memories is on one Thursday per month from 2.30pm--4pm at Age Concern, Duff Street, Girvan.
There is a small charge of £1.50 per person to cover the cost of refreshments and hall hire. The next meeting is on Thursday 13 March with a meeting also scheduled for April 15 with other dates to follow.
These groups are for people who are able to attend on their own safely or who can bring their own support with them.

The David Suttie Memorial Quiz will take place this year in The Vaults bar in Girvan, courtesy of that team being last year’s winners.
The quiz takes place on Wednesday February 26 at 7.30 pm for 8pm. Each team is to consist of four members.
Nestle are holding a quiz night on Friday March 7 at the Catholic Hall at 7.30pm in aid of Action for Children. Teams of four must be registered by Wednesday 26 February. £10 per team entry fee with £100 for the winning team. To enter your team call Emma on 07810 203621 or David on 07889 837681.
Street Party AGM
Once again, it is time to start planning the Xmas Street Party. The committee require new members to come on board with new ideas and to assist in fundraising, various licences required, booking the childrens entertainers, decorating Santa’s grotto, street music, street plan, church service and choir, selection of snow King and Queen etc.
Without your help, the current success of this street party will not be able to continue. The next meeting will be held in Z1 Youth Bar in Dalrymple Street on Wednesday 26th February at 6.30pm.
This meeting will be the AGM, for the Girvan Street Party so to all you Mums and Dads and indeed anyone who can spare an hour once a month please come along. We need your help to ensure its continuing success.
