SWRI Birthday Party

Ann Cashman, Vice President welcomed everyone, rural song was sung, accompanied with Janette Sloan on keyboard. Business:- Invites from Alloway, Upper Stinchar and Cairnryan. Trip to be to Edinburgh and Garden Festival. Jessie Brown cut the birthday cake which was baked and decorated by Rosemary Stevenson.

The meal was supplied and served by committee, the sweet competition was won by Betty Stewart, 2nd Janette Sloan 3rd Nan Wilkinson. Tea was served with cake. The entertainment was by members Janette Rosemary and Jessie. Bulb Competition:-1st equal Nan Wilkinson and Jessie Brown 3rd Janette Sloan. V.O.T.by Jessie Brown. All the Hon members received a flower posy made by Janette Sloan and Lorna Greenhill. Next meeting is a cooking demonstration by Mauread Anderson on Monday 7th April

Living With Leisure

On Monday, 24th March we look forward to a visit by Mr Alan Middleton of the charity “Gardening Leave”. They offer horticultural therapy to veterans of our forces. All over 50s are welcome to join us in the Community Centre at 2pm. A few seats are available on our Day Trip to New Lanark Heritage Centre, coming home to High tea at Malin Court. Total cost to non-members is £20.00 incl.travel, entrance, meal and all tips.

Car Boot Sale

CRAG are holding the first Car Boot Sale of 2014 on Sunday 30th March starting at 11 am in the Catholic Hall, Henrietta Street, Girvan. Stalls are £10 - to book please phone Ingrid on 01465 715621 or Erica on 01465 713826. There will also be a tombola stall and home baking, teas and coffees.

At 1.30pm we are holding a public meeting appealing for anyone who could help fundraise, plan and organise the Festival of Light in 2014. Please come along to the Catholic Hall if you are interested - free cup of tea and cake.
