Carrick joins snowdrop festival

One of Scotland’s most popular outdoor festivals is in now bloom to offer visitors the chance to marvel at spectacular swathes of snowdrops carpeting the grounds of some of the finest gardens and grounds around the country.

Three of Ayrshire’s stunning historic properties, which all boast extensive and beautiful woodlands, are participating in the Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2015 - Culzean Castle & Country Park near Maidens, Blairquhan near Maybole and Caprington Castle near Kilmarnock.

Running from 31 January to 15 March, the festival features over 60 properties - some of which have opened exclusively for the event – with blankets of snowdrops set in some of the country’s loveliest surroundings.
