The annual Rotary Club of Girvan’s Burns Supper was held in the Royal Hotel in Montgomerie Street.

The Girvan Rotary filled the lounge in the Royal Hotel and the evening opened with comments from organiser Eric McKinnon before songs led by Ian McGregor and then a splendid Immortal Memory from Rothesay resident, and retired senior policeman, Dan Edgar.

Other performers were; the Selkirk Grace, Mr Tom Paterson, the Address to the Haggis, Laurie MacKinnon, the Lasses, Rev Jim Guthrie , Drouthy Cronies, Dr Jim Anderson and a thanks to all by Mr Findlay Mills .

However there was a secret star performer, Miss Charlie Robertson, aged 10, of Dailly Primary School . Charlie performed the ‘address to the toothache’ wonderfully - and was very brave to come out in front of a full room to do her turn which she handled perfectly.

Charlie is the Granddaughter of Mr Paul Brown and Mrs Nancy Rae .

The other secret was, it was Mrs Rae who prepared our marvellous Burns meal .

The evening was very fortunate to have such quality performers and the Rotary Club thank them for the time they spent on their preparation . Burns would have been proud of the healthy camaraderie, the intellectual discussion, and the super grub and venue.
