The Girvan and District History society will meet on Thursday 27 March at 7.30pm in the McKechnie Institute, Dalrymple Street. There will be a presentation on Dumfries House by Thomas Breckney.
Dumfries House is fast becoming one of the nation’s premier visitor attractions with its award winning B&B.
The attraction also includes a hospitality training school,outdoor centre,adventure playground,artist studio,restaurant,cafe’, a recently restored water driven saw mill and soon to be reopened wall garden.
With the two thousand acre estate it has much to offer.
The hub of this exciting project will always be the magnificent Dumfries House mansion, built by the architect Robert Adam and hosing one of the world’s finest collections of Thomas Chippendale furniture.
