Girvan was treated to a fantastic night of fun on Friday, November 6 when Wendy Dewar and daughter Leanne hosted a bingo and raffle night in aid of the Little Art School Trust.
The raffle took place in between bingo games along with mountains of home baking and obligatory tea or coffee. Everyone enjoyed the night, which raised just over £250 for the charity.
Thank you to everyone who came along on the night and who took home some brilliant prizes including vouchers, jewellery, wine, whisky, chocolates, flowers to name but a few.
The Little Art School Trust is a new regulated Scottish charity in South Ayrshire and believes that ‘using art can make a big difference in our community’. Already running a project ‘Drawing Together – For people with Dementia & their Carers’ in Girvan, Maybole, Troon and Ayr the Trust has seen the positive impact that art has on those with dementia.
Each class is carefully prepared to ensure that everyone can draw and paint regardless of their varying abilities. Often people with dementia can find everyday tasks difficult to negotiate but given the time and dedication of the art teachers and assistants beautiful pieces of art are being produced.
The Little Art School Trust is on Facebook and will soon be announcing two exciting new projects which will be starting in the New Year. For more information please contact Susan Webb, Development Coordinator at the Little Art School Trust by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
