tHE PROPOSED MULTI million pound Brunston Castle golf club and leisure complex near Dailly was set to go before Kyle and Carrick district council for planning permission on May 10.

The Gazette was given a tour round the estate by businessman Bob Low who detailed the area where he he hoped to lay out his complex. The Gazette was joined on their journey by MP George Foulkes who agreed that the site had great potential for such a development.

WILLIAM GRANT AND sons LTD won the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement for the second successive year with their Girvan distillery proving key to their export success. Alan Wolstenholme, Distillery Manager at Girvan said: “We are all tremendously delighted at winning the Queen’s Award for Export for the second time running.” Grants was one and still is one of the last independent distillers of whisky and Mr Wolstenhome said it was recognised as a worldwide brand.
