Hundreds of people gathered at the Glebe Park in Maybole last week for a show of medieval jousting and combat skills.

Everyone was encouraged to cheer on their favourite although it has to be said there was one knight who seemed to go out of his way to rile the crowd!

With cheers and boos resounding across the Glebe, the crowd witnessed chivalrous knights on their noble steeds with swords and lances in a fabulous display of courage and skill.

The display team was Les Amis d’Onno who provided what was probably a unique event in Maybole, demonstrating some spectacular horsemanship and pageantry.

They are the official Jousting Team of Historic Scotland and appear at the “Spectacular Jousting” event at Linlithgow Palace each year.

Locally, as knights there were the Bruce and the Kennedy families represented.
