President Yvonne Jack was delighted to introduce members, friends and many guests from surrounding Rurals to ‘Litereight’, four Ayrshire writers who were speakers for the Upper Stinchar Open Evening in Barr Village Hall.

These four talented ladies held the audience enthralled with short story readings, recitations and a hilarious monologue from Fiona Atchison. From touching poetry to stories with a twist in the tail, there was plenty of food for thought.

Fiona Atchison, Catherine Lang, Helena Sheridan and Greta Yorke met through Ayr Writers’ Club and went on to form Litereight, writing and publishing together and winning competitions galore across a variety of genres. Read more in the Carrick Chatter section on this page.
