OLD Dailly SWRI met on Wednesday January 18 to celebrate their 80th birthday. The tables were set with our new tartan tablecloths and floral decorations made by Anne Dalton.
President Margaret Brown welcomed members and guests and introduced members of The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, who had come along to provide the entertainment for the evening, and it wasn’t long before we were all clapping our hands and tapping our feet along to the music. The youngsters played with great enthusiasm and the end of their performance came too soon. After an encore, Jessie Brown gave a hearty vote of thanks and we all put our hands together to show our appreciation.
We then all enjoyed a delicious supper provided by Moonrings. This gave everyone a good chance to catch up with old friends and to see the display of photographs and memorabilia that Tricia Watts had put on display. The raffle was drawn and Margaret thanked everyone for coming and wished us all a safe journey home.
The next meeting is on February 15 in Dailly Community Centre when Louise Lynch will give a talk on complementary health and the competitions are 3 Differently Decorated Cup Cakes and a Valentine Poem. All welcome.
