Pupils looking for Minishant stories

A local author is helping a primary school write a history of Minishant.

an World Book Day, March 5, local author Gillian Muir visited Minishant Primary to launch a project with the children.

Gillian said: “We are going to gather information about Minishant today and stories from the past and hopefully write our own book.

“We want to record what it is like today and pick up a few stories from its past. At this stage we are gathering information. If you want to get involved and have any materials on Minishant today, stories from the past, letters, documents, photographs or drawings, please get in touch.

“Don’t send us any originals as we don’t want any of your precious things going astray. Copies would be great and there is a box at the school to collect any stories or information.

“If you have any other ideas, scanned documents or information you wish to share please email to gillianmuir@weedugbooks.com.

“We are not sure if this will be a small project or a much bigger one. It all depends on the response we get. We hope to use the materials to write articles, poems, document events, take photos and sketch the surroundings. Ultimately we would like to produce our own book and have it published with the help of Wee Dug books. Wish us luck!”
