Pupils at Cairn Primary in Maybole have recently learning about South America in class.

The P7 pupils at the school have been looking at various aspects of South America including the languages spoken, the cultures across the continent and music.

In addition, they also studied dancing which plays a big part in the lives of the South American people and as part of their look into the dancing culture, the pupils watched videos from the Rio De Janiero carnival in Brazil for inspiration and ideas for making the masks, which they are pictured in above.

The pupils also took part in a Samba dance class.
