Last week The Rotary Club of Girvan spent the day at the very well organised 35th Carrick Lowland Gathering, which was held in Victory Park Girvan.

The weather was marvelous and the Rotary were selling raffle tickets to help support its many charities.

They have supported, in the last year, CAN , the Community Action network of Girvan and CHAS.

CHAS is the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, a charity which provides hospice services in Scotland for young people with life shortening conditions.

They run two Hospices, one in Kinross called Rachael House and one in Balloch, called Robin House.

As well as other various well deserving causes.

The day saw the supporters and visitors of the Gathering buy many raffle tickets and by three o’clock the draw was made by the Games Chieftain, Mr. Robert Jess.

The Rotary would like to thank Mr. Robert Jardine the chairman of the games who laid on a truly great day.

The winners of the raffle were nearly all local and were;

6 bottles of Whisky: Mrs. I Noble, Girvan

3 bottles of Whisky: Mrs. J Mills, Girvan

2 bottles of Whisky: Mr. S Lochhead, Kilkerran

1 bottle of Whisky: A Philips

2 Bottles of wine: Mrs. L Henderson, Turnberry

Rotary are grateful to W. Grant of Girvan who assisted us with some of the prizes.
