‘Social Sunday’ a success

Wigtown Agricultural Society’s Social Sunday was hailed a great success when hundreds of people came to Bladnoch Park to see the vintage lorries taking part in the Ayrshire Road Run when they stopped off for lunch.

Wigtownshire’s Horse Driving Club’s Show taking place at the other side of the showfield was also a great attraction; the elegance of the sport was admired by many. Hot food from Ballard’s catering and the bar, cream teas and home baking provided by the Society’s committee were enjoyed by all. A bouncy slide and side shows including a real fire engine entertained the children, even Mickey Mouse was there! However the star of the entertainment was committee member, Neil McIntyre with his version of Splat the Rat!
