Girvan musical Society are presenting ‘Strictly Showtime’ at Girvan academy theatre nightly from Wednesday 9th to Saturday 12th March 2016.

The society has presented various musicals over its 18 year history including The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof and Annie as well as more modern shows including The Drowsy Chaperone and Acorn Antiques.

This year in a break from tradition they are presenting a review show - it will include music from many different shows including classic hits like The Sound Of music and South Pacific to current west end hits including Billy Elliot and Matilda. This is an all singing, all dancing extravaganza. It is filled with great tunes, lots of humour and fun anecdotes along the way.

The society have been working over the winter months to produce the show and look forward to hopefully playing to full houses in March at the theatre.

The society are also proud of their links in the community over the years and have included a junior ensemble in the show. It involves 16 young people aged 8-13 who auditioned to be part of the show and feature in various of the numbers we are performing. Tickets for the show are available at ‘The Sweetie Shop’ in Girvan or by contacting treasurer Hilda Noble.
