Summer fete

Girvan South Parish Church Summer Fete opens at 1 pm this Saturday (4th June) with their hot food stall selling hot dogs and rolls’n’sausage.

From 2pm to 4pm all other stalls will be open and teas/coffee with usual home baking will be on sale. The dog show and wellie throwing events will commence around 2.30 for registration and 3pm for all the fun.

Come and have your face painted, buy a plant or a gift for someone. Visit our white elephant table – you may find a treasure! Our usual home baking stall will delight you too. All we need is YOU (and the SUN!) See you there!

Mixed Media Workshops

A series of workshops will take place in the Townhouse from 2-4pm starting on Saturday 4th of June.

You are invited to open your imagination for some creative playing and produce amazing prints. No experience necessary. Book you place today. Workshops cost £15 per person per workshop with materials supplied.

Scout Group Bingo

It’s the start of the month this week, which means that Girvan Scout Group will be holding one of its regular fund-raising PRIZE BINGO sessions on FRIDAY 3rd JUNE, at 7.30pm, in the SCOUT HALL at 9 Glendoune Street.

Refreshments will be available and there will be a raffle. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy an inexpensive and enjoyable night out. There will be no Bingo session in July and August while the leaders take a well-deserved break, but the Scout Group will look forward to seeing you again in September.

Dog show

Companion dogs on leads are welcome to to the show this Saturday at South Parish Girvan Summer Fete.

Registration is at 2.30pm on 4 June for the best puppy (6 - 12 Months): best junior (2 - 4 year0; best intermediate (4 years and up) and best senior (over 8 years). The final class is best in show.

Entry is £1 per class. Prizes have been donated by the GIrvan Pet Shop.

Snack lunches will be served from 1pm, teas from 2pm. There are a variety of stalls and entry is free.

LENDALFOOT

Car boot sale

A car boot sale will be held at Lendalfoot Hall on Sunday 31st JULY 2016 at 2pm usual stalls, to book a table call Ann Grieve on 01465 891236.

Ballantrae

Malawi Link Group Cream Tea

This annual event will be held in Ballantrae Community Centre on Saturday 18th June from 2.00pm until 4pm.

Cost for adults is £3.00, children free.

Scones with cream/ butter and raspberry jam served in authentic China tea cups with tea or coffee will be served. A variety of books and DVDs are for sale. A sales table with a variety of home baked cakes and produce is available.

Come along and support this worthwhile cause.

Coffee morning

A coffee morning in aid of Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party will be held in the Community Centre, Ballantrae on Saturday 4 June 2016 at 100am till 11.30am.

Stalls will include Baking, Produce, Plants. Hamper, Raffle, Nail game and Teas.

Adults £2.50, Children 5op, Under5s Free. Donations gratefully accepted. All welcome.

Maybole

OIR

The OIR weekly classes in Maybole are continuing well.

With the news that group was awarded some funds from the recent Community Participatory Budget for the Gardening Group, the committee need those who expressed an interest in this group to come forward once again.

There is a General Meeting to be held for all members to attend on Wednesday, June 1 at 2.00pm in the Speakers, Whitehall, Maybole

There will be an update on how the OIR has been progressing, discussion on what is to come as well as future events, and any suggestions from members would be welcome.

Carrick Centre

Wednesday, Jun 1 – THE BOOK CLUB – 11am-12.30pm. FREE & ALL WELCOME. Love reading? The book club is a friendly informal get together and the group would love to see you along.

In June come along and discuss a book you have read and make suggestions for books to review next session which starts in September.

Friday, Jun 3 – “Happy 3rd Birthday” – THE CARRICK SENIORS LUNCH CLUB, 12noon-1.30pm. All welcome. Enjoy great company over a lovely 2 course lunch with tea/coffee prepared by wonderful volunteers £3pp. Available first Friday each month.

Saturday, Jun 4 - CAR BOOT 10am-2pm – “Final Spring Cleaning before Summer?” then why not book a stall OR Fancy a bargain then drop in for a browse. Café/Soft Play open too: 10am -4.30pm.

Tuesday, Jun 7 – Official Launch of “NEW” CARRICK TOTS. 10am-11.30am every Tuesday for Pre-school age. Parent/Carer & Toddler Group, a chance to mix & mingle for adults and children. Arts & Crafts, Reading Corner & Soft Play for all children of pre-school age.

Friday, Jun 10 – “COCKTAIL NIGHT for the Girls” – 7pm-midnight.
