When we are growing up there are often things that we say that we want to achieve. We maybe want to get the right qualifications to get a job that interests us or to get into university.
Or maybe we want to pass our driving test or reach a certain level of proficiency at our favourite sport. Then as we get older we maybe have other goals. We maybe want to find someone whom we can get married to and enjoy a lifelong partnership with. Perhaps we may want to give our family some financial security.
However is there ever a time when we can sit back and say to ourselves that we have achieved everything that we have wanted to achieve?
I think that it is important for us, no matter what age we are, to set some goals for ourselves. In order to do that, we need to think about where we want to end up in the future and then work out how we are going to get there. It is probably a good idea to set ourselves both short term and long term goals. There are several goals that people of faith usually set themselves.
They usually try to live each day remembering the gifts that God has given and behaving in a way that God would approve of. They might also strive to use their God given talents not just forthemselves but also in order to make other people’s lives better as well.
