With the X Factor screening two episodes last weekend it is the turn of that other big show to make its return this weekend.
However Strictly Come Dancing’s Launch is on Sunday night where it clashes directly with the fourth episode of the X Factor.
I wonder which one will do better in the ratings? This year is a year of change for Strictly with Sir. Bruce Forsyth stepping down as the main presenter.
The show this year will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman who worked so well together on the Results show last year. Bruce hasn’t quite hung up his dancing shoes though as he will be making an appearance on Sunday as well as in some future specials.
The celebrities who have signed on for this season include Steve Backshall, Simon Webbe, Frankie Bridge, Scott Mills, Sunetra Sarker, Alison Hammond, Caroline Flack, Gregg Wallace, Judy Murray, Tim Wonnacott and Jennifer Gibney.
What is particularly interesting is that Caroline Flack used to co-present the companion show to the X Factor on ITV2! Sunday’s programme will disclose the professional dancer that each celebrity will be dancing with. This programme will also show how well the celebrities’ dancing training as gone so far, as they all take part in a special group dance.
There will also be several dances performed by the professional dancers and last year’s winner – Abbey Clancy will also be putting in an appearance. Special guests – Smokey Robinson with Imelda May and 5 Seconds of Summer will also be contributing some musical numbers. After this show the celebrities and their dancing partners will be putting in further training prior to Strictly’s return to the Saturday night schedule!
