South Carrick Community Leisure is looking for volunteers to help them bagpack over the Easter weekend in ASDA on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April from 11am-4pm. Anyone interested should contact Sconaid Clark on 01465 714616.
Girvan Carers group for carers of people with dementia held its latest meeting last month.
The group will host a monthly meeting for carers of people with dementia. They can chat and share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee and will receive practical and emotional support. There are also occasional invited speakers on topics of interest.
The meetings will be on the last Thursday of each month with the latest meeting held on March 27. A meeting is scheduled for April 24 in Age Concern, Duff Street, Girvan from 2pm-4pm. If interested or to find out how to join the group call Jenni McKeand, link worker on 01292 318005.
Girvan Community Garden Pop Up Charity Shop opened this week so please come in and support us. We can still take any donations of bric a brac, books etc. The shop is open from 10am-4pm, with the last day on Saturday.
Also, the community garden will be open on Saturday and Easter Sunday from 1-4pm. Visit ‘The Shed’, a new venture for the garden full of upcycled, handmade and reused objects.

The South Carrick Community Leisure 50/50 club is a fundraising venture to raise money for the new community and leisure complex which will include a modern swimming pool.
All funds raised are split 50:50 with half the money going towards prizes and half contributing towards funds for the new building.
A draw will be completed in the first week of each month and a first prize of £25 and a second prize of £10 will be awarded to the first two names drawn.
The December draw is a special Christmas draw with a first prize of £150, a second prize of £50 and a third prize of £25.
Payment to join the club can either be made in cash or by cheque made payable to South Carrick Community Leisure.

Open Air Services
On Good Friday (18 April), South Carrick Churches Together will be holding their usual open air service at 12 noon at Stumpy, to which are all invited. There will also be a united evening service at 7pm in the Sacred Hearts Church.
Representatives from churches in Girvan and the surrounding villages will be taking part in these services. Everyone is welcome.
Girvan Bowling Club is having a prize bingo night on Wednesday 16th April at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.
Following on from our most successful Anniversary Dinner & Demonstration in March at Malin Court, the club returns to its normal monthly Demonstrations in Girvan Community Centre on Wednesday 23rd April at 7.15 p.m. In a change to the Syllabus, the Demonstrator will be Kathleen Gibson, on Tour from Blaydon-on-Tyne, everyone most welcome, visitors £4.
The club are grateful to Carrick Futures and Scottish Power Renewables for the Grant received. The Grant will allow the club to continue with their next planned events. Firstly at the beginning of May, our annual membership promotion window display will be in the former Sue Ryder Shop on Dalrymple Street, and in July the club will take part in the Glasgow Cathedral Flower Festival which coincides with the Thanksgiving Service for The Opening of the Commonwealth Games. President Nancy Agnew welcomed members and friends to their meeting on Wednesday 9 April.
Margaret Robertson read the minutes which was followed by a business discussion.
Mrs Isobel Hainey received her honorary member certificate from Nancy Agnew. Nancy introduced Janette Couser who gave a demonstration on tray bakes.
Janette handed round leaflets to the ladies which contained the cakes she was baking that evening.
Janette entertained with many useful hints as she produced her delicious tray bakes. Janette donated most of her tray bakes to the raffle with a selection to taste and try for the teas.
Tricia McIlwraith gave a hearty vote of thanks. Janette and Ina judged the competitions.

The bus will depart from Colmonell Community Centre at 8.30am for the summer visit to Stirling on Saturday 31st May. Nancy requested that payment for the outing to be paid at the next meeting on Wednesday 14th May.
Nancy thanked members and friends who donated baby blankets to the Linas project and invited everyone to view the beautiful blankents on display.
The meeting on May 14 will include prizegiving.
Golf Club Opening
The Ladies Section of Maybole Golf Club is holding its opening night on Wednesday April 16.
This will be a completion using only two clubs and a putter and starts at 5.30pm.
Old and new members are welcome.
The next meeting of Old Dailly SWRI will be held in Dailly Community Centre on Wednesday, 16th April at 7:30pm. Speakers for the evening will be Julie and Jim from Girvan Community Garden. They will tell us about their work and the projects they are involved with. They have suggested we bring along an unusual container for us to plant up for summer. Container could be cup and saucer, old boot/shoe or anything of your choice.
Competitions are: Chicken Liver Pate and An Easter Bonnet.
