Youth steals the show at Malin Court

The Friends of Malin 20th Annual Burns Supper was held on Friday 22nd January at Malin Court, Maidens with the team under the supervision of Chef Iain Costine and Restaurant Manager Natalie Rodger serving superb traditional fare.

Chairman for the evening Rev Owain Jones introduced Leo Stack, a P7 pupil from Maidens Primary, who delivered a tremendous “Address to the Haggis” and very well deserved the extensive ovation he received.

Ian Macpherson MBE proposed an excellent “Immortal Memory”, a fine tribute to our National Bard and .

Charles Newlands MBE performed the “Toast to the Lassies” in his own witty, perceptive, style. Rev Ann Paton excelled in her unique and individually fashioned reply.

Wendy-Anne Duncan’s wonderful singing enthralled the audience and was superbly complemented by pianist, and accompanist throughout the evening, Andrew Nicol. Liam Rodger’s piping was quite superb and Ian McGregor led community singing. The vote of thanks was proposed by David Jack.
