THE Gazette is appealing for any information after a number of cats in the Girvan area were poisoned, some so badly that they have had to be put to sleep.
So far nine cats in Girvan have been poisoned in the Snow Street and Birch Terrace area.

One concerned resident, Elizabeth Ruddock, of Snow Street, Girvan, was so upset and angry at what was happening she contacted the Gazette to try and bring tho
se responsible to justice.

Her cat, Felix, was sadly put to sleep after failing to recover. Mrs Ruddock said: "Felix belonged to my three-year-old daughter. I don't know how to tell her.

"Felix had been missing for a couple of days and I was starting to get worried because it wasn't like him. Usually he would be out all night and come in the morning to sleep during the day.

"Cats won't eat poison,

it would have to have been disguised with some-

thing else before they would eat it. This is deliberate and we need to stop those responsible from doing it again.

Mrs Ruddock had to go to the vet's to identify Felix after he was taken there

She continued: "This is getting out of hand now, surely someone must have some information."

If you do, the Gazette would like to hear from you. We want to see those responsible brought forward and held accountable for their actions. If you have any information please contact us on 01465 712 688 or by email on editorial@carrickgazette.com
