CARRICK welcomed its new Police Inspector last Tuesday when Andy Clapperton took over from the recently retired Stuart Gaudin.

Andy moves into Girvan from Ayr where he worked as a frontline policing supervisor and has worked with the force for 24 years.
Before working in Ayr, he was the Section Sergeant in the Doon Valley.
Speaking to the Gazette, he said: "During this post I was involved in the setting up of the UK's first 'One Stop Shop' project, incorporating Police, Health Board, Social Services, Housing and other local authority and voluntary services, all operating in partnership under the one roof.
"The project was a huge success and reaped huge benefits for the local community, steering the way forward as a template towards future successful partnerships between the police and the Public Sector throughout Scotland."
He added: "I firmly believe from my personal experiences that a partnership policing approach is indeed the way forward, and that the public will always be the main beneficiary to the multi agency working theme, providing safer communities and a greater quality of life for everyone living in the Carrick area.
"For these reasons it will be my intention to interact as a matter of priority with those in the Carrick Section who already contribute, and those who wish to contribute in the future, towards making the area a better and safer place."
Outwith work, Andy is a keen triathlete and only last year he competed in the World Ironman Championships in Austria.
The event consists of a three mile open water swim, 115 mile cycle and a 26 mile marathon and he completed it in just under 11 hours and raised over £2000 for the Scotland's Children Hospice.
Finally he added: "I am, to say the least, delighted at being given this unique opportunity to work in such a beautiful part of the countryside, and look forward to meeting and working with my future partners."
