THE AIRWAVES will once again be filled with the sounds of Girvan FM when the radio station returns on Monday, September 1st.

There were a number of concerned residents in the town wondering whether or not the broadcast would return and it was the same for the organisers who worked extremely hard to secure the necessary funding.
However, the draft schedule was made available for the first time at the volunteers meeting last Wednesday afternoon and gave the confirmation that Girvan FM would return at midday on September 1st.
And this year, the organisers are aiming to make it even better. The flagship show will be the Remember Then... Girvan's classic oldies from 3pm on Mondays to Saturdays.
Music and voices from the talented local folk scene will have their own slot from 7pm on Sunday evening and on the same night there will be the station's first classical music programme.
There is still time, however, for locals to get involved if they wish and training sessions for volunteers will be held.
The training will be given at the station's Girvan base in the Carrick Buildings and anyone interested should contact the station by letter to Girvan FM, Carrick Buildings, 20A Henrietta Street, Girvan KA26 9AL.
And now volunteers have even more prominence within the station's administration than before with it's newly elected committee.
This year's chair is Peter Sturgeon, vice chair is Chris Campbell, secretary will be Ian McLachlan, Mark McEwan is treasurer and Bill McBlane is the press officer.
The launch time has been set, the schedule filled, are you ready for the return of 107.5 Girvan FM?
