GIRVAN'S new community hospital will be operating at the same capacity and providing exactly the same service as the Davidson Cottage hospital it replaces.
There will also be some employment opportunities at the new hospital, not in clinical staff but in ancillary roles such as cleaning and portering.
Both the Davidson Cottage Hospital and Girvan Helath Centre buildings are owned by NHS Ayrshire and Arran, and will be sold. However, the timescales for selling the properties have not been agreed.
