Christmas 2009 will be a special time for former pupils of Sacred Heart Academy and its feeder schools as they gather at Jesters Nightclub in Girvan for a spectacular Homecoming reunion.
Already enquiries about the event, which will include a buffet, live music and special requests, have come in from former pupils from places as far flung as Barbados, Spain, USA, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

One of the highlights of the ni
ght will be the reformation of John McGinnis' legendary band with old school pupils – many of whom have made careers in music - as his support. Former school disco DJs from various eras will also play sets, with each attendee having the option to put in special requests in advance upon purchase of their tickets. Secretary of the Reunion Committee, Catriona Cochrane said:

"For years a number of us have talked about a get together, and we're delighted that it is finally happening in this Homecoming Year. Sacred Heart was a very special school with a very happy atmosphere and many of us have kept in touch over the years despite being spread far and wide. Since we started talking about this gathering we've had positive responses from over 100 from former pupils and teachers. Bringing many of them back to revisit the town of their youth will also provide a boost to local hoteliers and retailers. We're planning to build on the success of this by holding regular events and raising funds to put back into community and youth groups in the town."

Tickets, which include a drinks reception and buffet, cost £25.00. They are available now from the Sweetie Shop, Aromas and Jesters or by phoning Chris Campbell on 07967162373 or email sacredheartreunion@hotmail.com
