SOUTH Ayrshire will be in the spotlight of the world’s media on June 8 as the area is set to become the first Scottish region to have the Olympic torch relay tour pass through it for any length of time.

It is already seen as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for local children to get involved in an international event and a chance for the area to showcase itself to the world.
