The Rotary Club of Girvan, last week handed over a grand total of £2000 to the Children’s Charity CHAS.

CHAS is the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, a Charity which provides hospice services in Scotland for young people with life shortening conditions.

Before Christmas, the Girvan Rotary Club spent four nights going round the streets of Girvan and Dailly with their Santa’s Sleigh, and a whole lot of collecting cans.

The club would like to thank the local people of those two towns for the enormous kindness and generosity during a month when spending on family presents and Christmas meals would be already sapping their cash.

Samantha Reilly, the CHAS full time fundraiser, said: “Girvan Rotary over the years have collected £28,734 for CHAS, a marvellous effort.

“Although The Rotary Club of Girvan did the collecting it was the people of Girvan and Dailly who have been so generous – thanks.”

This year’s collection was organised by John Andrew a hard working Girvan Rotarian.
