A royal day for Carrick pupils

The Gala King and Queen of Carrick 2016 are Jack Gemmell and Letia McGeachie.

Both are pupils at Cairn Primary in Maybole.

The St Cuthbert’s attendants are Kai McGregor and Emily Browne while the Gardenrose attendants are Drew Inglis and Leah Powell.

The 2016 Gala King and Queen of Carrick will be crowned this coming Saturday, June 11 at Glebe Park, Maybole.

The gala parade will leave Carrick Academy at 1pm and make its way, led by Maybole Pipe Band, to the Glebe via Kirkoswald Road, Whitehall. High Street, St Cuthbert’s Road and Crosshill Road where the royal couple will be crowned by The Marquess of Ailsa, Lord David Kennedy.

The gala will be officially opened by Provost Helen Moonie and all local councillors, MSP and MP have been invited and will judge the best group and the fancy dress competitions.

There will be lots going on with Audioclass performing live, pony rides, amusements, stalls, games.
