A vision for a new Girvan

A VISION for Girvan could include not only a new swimming pool but also a hotel and possibly harbourside apartments.

The plan emerged from five days of intense consultation involving the local community, with schools, local groups, councillors, community councillors and ordinary members of the public all contributing.

The “charrette”, as the consultation is known, was funded by the Scottish government and aimed to develop a shared “high-level vision” for the regeneration of the town, which will be linked to the proposed multi-use sports facility already approved by South Ayrshire Council.
