There have been some big changes within the Ballantrae Parish Church recently with the retiral of two of their most long standing church goers.
At the service on Sunday 2 November, Reverend Stephen Ogston presented John McIlwraith and Robert Dalrymple with gifts from the congregation as appreciation for their work at Ballantrae church.
John had served as session clerk for 33 years at the church starting in 1981 and Robert has carried out the role of Treasurer since 1985.
Both men were presented with certificates, mantel clocks and vouchers for their service whilst their wives received flower arrangements.
Reverend Ogston spoke well of them both for their time, hard work and dedication over the years.
And in a historic first for the church, Claire Strain has become the first female session clerk, with Colin McInally taking over from Robert as Treasurer.
