ALL HANDS TO THE LIFEBOAT

CARRICK folk have long been proud of their close ties to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and its life-saving station at Girvan Harbour.

Each generation has consistently answered the call for volunteers prepared to turn out in all weathers whenever the ‘maroon’ goes up.

And it looks like the charity is assured of continued support for the future, in the form of potential recruits Amber, aged seven, Saffron, 10, Darren, five, and four-year-old Shaun.
