As part of the excellent range of events and activities scheduled for Ayrshire Business Week taking place this October the Ayrshire & Arran Tourism Team is holding an event to introduce the brand new ‘Ayrshire Smiles’ online training programme.

Tourism businesses will have the opportunity to find out more about the training programme and the benefits that the provision of quality customer service has to the visitor experience and to business performance.

The ‘Ayrshire Smiles’ online course mixes customer service training with destination knowledge and is designed to inspire people employed within tourism related businesses to share their passion for the area and give a genuine warm welcome to visitors. It builds on tried and tested destination and service delivery courses and presents an excellent vehicle for creating a consistent and quality approach to customer service.

The ‘Your Initiative for Excellence’ event is free and will take place at The Marine Hotel, Troon on Thursday 10. October 2013, 10.30am - 12.30pm.

During this event there will presentations by industry representatives:

Linda Johnston, Executive Director Auchrannie Hotel and Spa. As Executive Director, Linda takes a lead role in the business and is involved in all aspects, particularly strategic, future and product development. Auchrannie have won numerous awards, most recently the DRAM Independent Hotel of the Year 2013 and TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best Family Resort and Top Small Hotel in the UK.

Ryan James, owner Two Fat Ladies - Ryan James is one of Glasgow’s best-known restaurateurs and owner of the celebrated Two Fat Ladies restaurants. An enthusiastic ambassador for Scotland, tourism and hospitality industries, Ryan is actively involved in a range of associations including Chairman of the Glasgow Restaurant Association and board member of Glasgow Service with Style. The Two Fat Ladies restaurants have an excellent reputation and have won many accolades including the Auchentoshan Spirit of Glasgow Restaurant of the Year, and best new restaurant from both the List and the Scottish Restaurants Awards.
