An action packed harbour gala

GIRVAN’S Harbour Gala saw hundreds entertained on Sunday and a significant sum raised for the town’s lifeboat station.

Sunday saw a fun-packed afternoon with festivities getting under way just before noon with the arrival of Girvan’s Civic Queen to perform the official opening ceremony.

There was also a fantastic display by the lifeboat team with an RAF Sea King helicopter carrying out a mock rescue.

The afternoon also included a stunning set from local band, Attic, along with fundraising activities including car boot stalls, BBQ, Owl Magic and a bottle stall.
