Cairn Primary pupils are involved in a community initiative to raise awareness of litter and keeping their community tidy.

Community Wardens and pupils have been out and about in Maybole promoting a litter-free community.Younger pupils from P1 and P2 started litter picking in the school grounds and older pupils worked in the streets around the school.

Monitors have been appointed to ensure litter is put in school bins on a daily basis and to encourage pupils to keep up the good work.

Those who continue to put their litter into the bins at playtime and lunch breaks will be rewarded by having their name entered into a prize draw.

The school has five Ipod Shuffles to give away and at the end of term, two lucky pupils will also receive PSPs.School staff hope parents and family members will continue to encourage pupils at home to keep the community clean and tidy.
