Torrential rain couldn’t dampen the enthusiasts who turned out for Barr’s annual Bonfire and Fireworks night on Saturday.

The evening began with the “Best Guy” competition in the village hall which was won by little Ivy Cross and her “Health and Safety Guy” which was at least five times bigger than her -perhaps Dad lent a helping hand! Then it was on to the lighting of the bonfire and an impressive display of fireworks put on by the village’s Community Association.

The King’s Arms was open to all for warming soup as well as curry and chilli to take the chill of a great family evening which was voted a great success by all.
