Golfers are continuing to tee off at Brunston Castle as the recently appointed liquidators search for a way ahead for the course.
Accountants from leading Scottish firm, Scott Moncrieff arrived at the Dailly course this week as DMH Leisure, which owns the course, went into liquidation.
But they have allowed the members of the golf club which plays there to continue to operate the facility, at least for another fortnight while a new owner is being sought for the club.
Golf club members are rallying round after an appeal by the committee for funds to pay for utilities in the intervening period.
A letter went out to all 250 or more members asking for donations of £30 each in order that they can keep the course open and members playing golf while the longer term future is decided.
Club secretary Lynda Cochrane described the response as “very positive and gratifying.”
She added, “There is a real desire amongst the members to do all they can to help the situation and preserve golf at Brunston Castle.
“We are all positive and upbeat about the future.”
