Cairn pupils celebrate life of Burns

Primary 7 pupils from Cairn Primary thoroughly enjoyed organising their own Burns Supper on January 30.

Pupils worked co-operatively as “Event Planners” to arrange all aspects of the celebrations themselves.

Performing the Immortal Memory were Kerry Taylor, Emma Dickie, Hannah MacKay and Skye Hunter

The event was attended by a number of invited guests from the local community as well as Primary 7 pupils from St. Cuthbert’s Primary.

Cairn Primary were delighted to welcome back former pupil Tia McLanaghan who piped in the haggis which was carried in by Darrel Sturgeon.

A traditional afternoon followed with pupils reading out speeches, singing and playing instruments.

It was a wonderful celebration of the life of Robert Burns.
