Carrick Gazette Editorial- Little Art School is going places

How fantastic it was to cover the success of the Little Art School this week. Since opening in Girvan’s refurbished Townhouse in January, the art school has been a tremendous success story.

The Little Art School is the brain child of Joanne Robinson and she had already set up schools in Ayr and Troon before deciding on Girvan for her next venture.

And it is wonderful that she and the other staff at the Little Art School have been backed in such great numbers by adults and children alike in this area.

The Little Art School’s belief is that anyone can draw or paint and their courses give you the perfect opportunity to do just that.

In a wide range of courses, they teach from beginners levelfor kids right through to offering beginner classes in drawing and painting for adults.

All of the classes are done in a relaxed setting in the Townhouse and you don’t even have to worry about bringing materials as everything is provided.

Joanne picked up an award from the Association of Scottish Businesswomen in October 2014 for the Most Innovative Start Up and it is certainly an award that was richly deserved.

The art school has been a welcome addition to a building that continues to need ventures like the Art School supporting it if the Townhouse is to flourish again.

Well done to Joanne and all at the Little Art School.
