Changes ‘minor’ to bus timetables say Stagecoach

Bus giants Stagecoach are to introduce timetable changes on routes affecting Carrick from Monday 9th March.

The company say that the timing changes are minor and will improve the reliability of the services including the 58, 358, 60 and 360 buses.

Timetables seen by the Gazette don’t seem to show any significant changes.

The first 58 bus leaving Girvan’s McCulloch Road will now depart at 6.09am, instead of the current 6.14am on weekdays arriving at Dailly at 6.35am and Maybole station at 6.55 am before reaching Ayr Bus station at 7.17am. The first 60 service on weekdays will now depart Girvan’s Elder Avenue five minutes later at 7.25am, arriving at Turnberry at 7.42am before heading to Ayr bus station for 8.27am.

The good news is that the changes won’t affect the service regularity with either a 58 or 60 service serving Girvan and the area every half hourto Ayr with the last service departing at 23.59 arriving at Ayr at 00.39. The last service leaves Elder Avenue as it does at the moment at 23.12.

On a Saturday the first service to Ayr at 7.00am from Elder Avenue and at 7.30 from McCulloch Road with a half hour service thereafter. On a Sunday the first Ayr service is a 358 bus from Elder Avenue at 8.11am, serving McCulloch Road and arriving at Ayr bus station at 9.19. There will be an hourly service thereafter with the last 60 bus still leaving for Ayr at 23.59.

As for southbound services, on weekdays, the first 358 service departs Elder Avenue at 7.47, arriving in Lendalfoot ten minutes later and Ballantrae cafe within 20 minutes before arriving in Stranraer at 8.45. The service is then two hourly from 10.30 onwards, with the last bus departing Elder Avenue at 22.33.

On a Saturday, the 358 will begin at 8.30am from Elder Avenue and again be two hourly until half 10, with the lat two buses also serving Pinmore and Colmonell. The Sunday service is limited, starting at 10.59 from Elder Avenue but there is only four buses to Stranraer with last at 20.01.

Full details of all the changes will be on the buses soon and are available on the Stagecoach West Scotland website.
