Colmonell Christmas party treat

President Nancy Agnew welcomed an excellent turnout of members and friends to their annual Christmas party.

An excellent meal - starting with lentil soup and melon was followed by a choice of roast turkey, steak pie or gammon and a delicious choice of sweets, Christmas pudding, fresh fruit, pavlova and cheesecake catered by Sue-lutions - Sue Marshall, Colmonell.

Janet McGradey baked and decorated the delicious Christmas cake which was enjoyed with mincemeat pies and tea and coffee.

Nancy introduced Mr Jim Colvan and friends who entertained the party. Jim played a selection of tunes on the electric organ followed by hilarious recitations from Marion, Elizabeth and Rosetta sang in an excellent voice some favourite and seasonal songs.

On behalf of the concert party Jim thanked the ladies for the wonderful meal.

Special raffle was drawn: Winners: 1 Janet McIlwraith (hamper) 2: Janet McGradey (voucher) and 3 Nancy Agnew (voucher).

A large raffle was drawn and Nancy thanked Sue and her staff Sarah and Emma for the wonderful dinner, her committee, entertainers and hallkeeper for their assistance and for everyone who came along.

The evening was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.

Nancy wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a safe journey home.
