The countdown is on for this year’s Girvan Musical Society production of Annie and the kids are getting to grips with their parts.
Youngsters from all around Carrick auditioned late last year for the orphan parts in Annie and this week 15 of them are honing their routines and learning their parts for their March debut.
The storyline, set in the depression of 1930s America, follows the exploits of Annie, an orphan, played by 11 year-old Eilidh Murray from Girvan. The musical is filled with favourites including that well known theme, Tomorrow, and many others you’ll recognise the moment you hear them.
Society president Fiona Johnson said: “This is a show for the whole family. It will make you laugh out loud, shed a tear and melt your heart. Please support your local society and its budding stars and get your tickets early as we’re expecting Annie to be popular.”
Annie runs from March 24-28 at the Girvan Academy Theatre. Tickets available from the Sweetie Shop, Girvan or society members.
